Tim Freke attempts a grand science-spiritual evolution book Soul Story

From this interview - his book sounds closest to Michael Cremo's book "Human Devolution." Tim appears to have a broad-minded approach but in fact he is neglecting several aspects - his view of evolution is closer to the "strong anthropic" view of science with more New Age spiritualism thrown in. If Tim studied nonwestern spiritual traditions more, along with nonwestern cultures more, from a scientific perspective - for example what was the spiritual culture of the original human culture that all modern humans are from? I know the answer but the New Age scene neglects this view, despite training to be "scientific." And why? Because science itself neglects a lot of subjects - despite some scientists delving into them. So you would want to have Dr. Bradford Keeney on about the spiritual training of the original human culture - he was a psychology professor and he's studied shamanism worldwide. Tim's view on science is in line with Roger Penrose's view of entropy and time - and so precognition is considered possible in quantum physics, as Stuart Hameroff details (he was a guest on Skeptiko) - it is just a different type of consciousness. There is "awareness" and "consciousness" and in nonwestern spiritual studies - these terms get confused easily - for example "shen" in contrast to "qi" - and what does that difference mean? Such details would go a long well to elucidate Tim's attempt at a broad-based unified analysis. Other areas of "evolution" to consider are ecology in light of industrialization, for example I have master's degree in this subject from the University of Minnesota. So I spent a semester at the School for Field Studies in Costa Rica, studying conservation biology and sustainable development. E. O. Wilson's recent book, "The Social Conquest of Nature" is the best counterargument to the atheism of Richard Dawkins (who in fact promotes synthetic ecology based on Platonic spiritualism). Another excellent book is "The Religion of Technology" by professor David F. Noble. So this subject matter requires a very broad and deep reading analysis - I read one scholarly book a day while in full lotus several hours a day - for 10 years - and even then I had to keep studying! haha. Yeah his whole Soul evolutionary "imagnos" - it is pretty much the same as Sri Aurobindo and transhumanism - Oliver L. Reiser, Jose Arguelles, etc.

So he conflates imagination with "proto-consciousness" or Yuan Qi.

There are some holes in his argument about time and spirit.

His view of evolution as "coming from a more primitive state" is just straight up racist. I debunked Ken Wilber promoting this b.s. - I debunked it in my master's thesis in 2000.

For example Tim Freke claims that tribal peoples just acted like pirates since stealing was the easiest way to procure new things - apparently Tim Freke has no knowledge of the original human culture, the San Bushmen!!

Was "colonialism" more evolved or less evolved than tribal pirates? And what about the post-modern genocide invasions going on now in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.? Are they more "evolved" using depleted uranium?

So how could Tim Freke have published a Taoist book and yet still promote this New Age b.s.?

So Tim says "the depth is always still." Is that true? that is a Western idea of nondualism as some static transcendent space beyond time.

Wait hold on - after he said he wanted to "penetrate" the "darkness" to her and she repeated back that he wanted to "penetrate" but reminded him that he was "married" - now Tim says he wants to "enter a passionate love affair"!! Holy smokes. Give it up already Tim with your Freudian Slips she's not falling for it!

"meditating on each other" - wow so Tim teaches tantra - he is a low frequency hypnotist. I bet the ladies love it (or maybe not). haha.

I feel sorry for her! haha.
