And similarly with birds using qubits for navigation - then in quantum biology consciousness the same connection is made. In other words Matthew Fisher argues it is precisely the 1/2 spin that enables quantum consciousness. So he notes other models using the 1/2 spin of hydrogen while he focuses on phosphorus. Fisher is not able to consider how water could be using proton 1/2 spin! He does not know about the Hydron-Phonon model of Puharich (and Dr. Mae-Wan Ho, etc.)
Another topic that emerged was whether quantum mechanisms might be employed by the brain to perform calculations, i.e., the possibility of quantum computing in the brain (Penrose, 1989). For example, a model of consciousness was developed that involves quantum computations in neuronal microtubules (Tegmark, 2000; Penrose and Hameroff, 2011; Hameroff and Penrose, 2014a,b; Reimers et al., 2014; Craddock et al., 2015). Other proposals have focused on the quantum phenomenon of spin (see below). Hu and Wu (2004) suggested that nuclear spins of hydrogen, nitrogen, and phosphorus in neuronal cellular components and electron spins of diffusible oxygen and nitric oxide in the brain might mediate consciousness. Electron spins in the brain have also been suggested as a potential target of transcranial magnetic stimulation therapies (Chervyakov et al., 2015). Other perspectives have led to application of quantum probability theory to human decision making (Wang et al., 2014; Kvam et al., 2015). Finally, the above mentioned navigation by birds may involve a quantum mechanical cryptochrome radical-pair (spin dynamic) mechanism in neuronal retinal ganglion cells that transmit information to the brain (Mouritsen et al., 2004; Hiscock et al., 2016).Recently a new model for how the brain may store and process quantum information has been proposed (Fisher, 2015). The model includes specific biochemical components that could be employed for quantum processing in glutamatergic neurotransmission.Matthew Fisher in his lecture on youtube gives the example of how when a person is to get an MRI - they have to be wheeled into the room slowly - or else the magnetic field causes the person to experience dizziness. And so then he asks: What is dizziness? Is it a headache? (this seems strange for him to ask, except that he used to get severe headaches and then he took lithium and then he discovered lithium works because it changes the proton spin). And so I can also confirm from meditation experience that when you go into the Emptiness you experience dizziness as a spacetime vortex!! And so now we have corroboration that opening the third eye and going into the Emptiness occurs through phase coherence of the quantum spin as formless awareness.
So now it's been discovered that actually phonon qubits store information for a longer time and in a smaller volume than photon qubits. And the phonon energy is then just transduced into electromagnetic and photon energy for quantum computing.
In this Report, we address this important challenge by experimentally demonstrating strong coupling between a superconducting qubit and the phonon modes of a high-overtone bulk acoustic wave resonator (HBAR). The system incorporates a piezoelectric transducer into a standard 3D transmon geometry (17). By performing basic quantum operations with the qubit, we reach the mechanical ground state and measure long coherence times (>10 μs) of single phonons. The cooperativity of our system is 260, comparable to that of early circuit QED devices (18) and more than an order of magnitude higher than the previous strongly coupled qubit-mechanical system (15). This dramatic improvement in cooperativity is due to three orders of magnitude increase in coherence times of both the qubit and mechanics. In addition, we demonstrate the unique feature of many high-Q phonon modes that are all individually addressable by the qubit.And so they scale up from "high frequency" - meaning ultrasound. And we've already noted the key resonance of ultrasound to heal proteins and to resonate the brain as a whole as quantum coherence of the microtubules. It was Lawrence Domash who argued that the Mantra in meditation (japa when repeated in the mind) then drives the Josephson Junction as an external phase coherence stimulated emission). And now it is proven this can then be stored as phonon qubit information.
