Was Bigfoot just a white male psychological projection of inferiority against Native Indigenous males?

Wow so the first bigfoot hits were all this "Indian Chief' that got killed - in Ohio or around there. So then I finally saw an Idaho newspaper - and 1910 - amazingly it says:
"On looking over the ground, we discovered the tracks of a band of Indians under the guidance of the noted "Bigfoot." We measured Bigfoot's tracks and they showed a length of seventeen inches and were six inches wide."
"Pioneer Writes Idaho History," Twin Falls Times, 1910 April 14, Idaho.

Thanks to MN Legend Hunters for cluing (clue-ing?) me into the Library of Congress digitized newspapers database! What an amazing resource.

Balsam Lake Bear Boy? | MN Legend Hunters

https://mnlegendhunters.wordpress.com/2017/06/12/balsam-lake-bear-boy/
Jun 12, 2017 - Balsam Lake, WI January 29, 1871 Today I am going to cheat just a bit and go slightly east of the Minnesota border to Balsam Lake, WI.

So then I search again - this time for Texas - and I get

So I search that first quote - because you think with ALL the tons and plethora of Bigfoot t.v. shows and Bigfoot fan clubs and Bigfoot hunter organizations, etc. that someone online would have found that same quote from that same newspaper and posted it online. I mean you find that with UFO sightings right?

But NO! No one has posted that quote online!! I get this book though. I'm gonna email this dude.

I'm not sure who you are as you did not include your name.

The term 'Bigfoot' was not applied to the Sasquatch until the 1950s so your article from 1910 relates to something else. Also, I'm an historian not a psychologist so I can't address whether Bigfoot is a nature surrogate for European Americans, though that is probably not far off.

Sincerely,
